Shop & collection orders
When is the shop open?
Tuesday to Friday 8am to 4pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm. We’re closed on Mondays. Full details, including Christmas hours, are on the shop page.
Can I reserve cookies?
Yes. Use the collection order form by 2pm and we’ll have them boxed from 10am the next day we’re open. For up to 12 cookies on the same day, just ring the shop.
How do I pay for a collection order?
When you collect, by card, phone or cash. We don’t take payment online.
Do you deliver to homes?
How long do the cookies keep?
They’re best on the day and very good for two more days in an airtight tin. Ten seconds in the microwave or three minutes in a warm oven brings them back to life. Boxed cookies have a five-day best-before date.
Can I freeze them?
Yes, baked cookies freeze well for a month. Even better, buy our frozen dough and bake them fresh: 175°C fan, 13 to 15 minutes, straight from the freezer.
Allergens & dietary needs
Are your cookies nut-free?
No. Our kitchen handles peanuts, almonds, pistachios and hazelnuts every day. Cookies without nuts in the recipe may still contain traces. Please read our allergen policy.
Do you do gluten-free cookies?
We have two cookies made without gluten-containing ingredients: Chocolate Chunk and Almond & Orange. Because we use wheat flour in the same bakehouse, we don’t call them gluten-free and they aren’t suitable for people with coeliac disease.
Which cookies are vegan?
Midnight and Bramble Oat are on all year, and there’s a Vegan Mince Pie from late November. Every vending machine carries at least one vegan cookie.
Can I see full ingredients?
Every boxed and wrapped cookie has a full ingredients label, and the shop keeps an ingredients folder on the counter. You can also e-mail hello@ovenlark.co.uk for any recipe.
Vending
How much does it cost to host a machine?
Nothing. We install, stock, insure and maintain it. You provide the floor space and a 13A socket. See vending for the options.
How many people do we need on site?
Usually at least 60 on a normal day for our Compact machine, and 200 or more for the Tall one. Smaller sites can sometimes share a route stop; ask us.
A machine took my money but didn’t release a cookie.
Sorry about that. E-mail vending@ovenlark.co.uk with the machine number (on the sticker by the card reader), the time and the last four digits of your card. We’ll refund you within three working days.
Can members of the public use your machines?
Most are inside workplaces, so no. The machine by our yard gate on Tinsmith Yard is open to everyone, 24 hours a day.
Gifts, events & wholesale
What’s the minimum order for corporate gifts?
There’s no minimum for plain boxes. Printed sleeves start at 30 boxes and logo-stamped cookies at 100.
How far ahead should we order for Christmas?
For delivery by Friday 18 December, place your order by Friday 4 December. Earlier is always better for big orders with printed sleeves.
Do you supply cafés outside Sheffield?
Our frozen dough goes anywhere in mainland UK by chilled courier. Fresh daily deliveries cover Sheffield, plus Rotherham and Chesterfield twice a week. See wholesale.
Do you make wedding cakes or celebration cakes?
No, we only make cookies (and the odd blondie). We do make cookie favours and cookie tables for weddings and parties; use the quote form.
